You can dispose of old paint cans in the regular garbage as long as they are fully dry. However, if there is still paint in the old cans, what then?
There are several options for disposing old paint cans that still have paint remaining in them. There are hazardous waste /paint recycling drop off centers either at the city dump, or at some fire stations.
Rather than bringing them in to a recycling center, one method that works really well is to add cat litter to the old paint at a ratio of 1:1. Stir the litter in and allow the paint to fully dry. Once this is done, the can of paint can be thrown out with your regular garbage. 🙂
