This is a question that often gets asked when we finish a project for a client. As long as you are storing the properly sealed (once again….SEALED ) can of latex/acrylic paint in an area that will not freeze or become too hot, your paint can last up to 10 years! If the lid on the can of paint will not seal properly, the best thing to do is to find a container that will seal properly to pour the paint into. Remember to label the container with the manufacturer name and paint colour. When checking the paint to see if it is still usable, you will notice an odd odour or the paint will be “chunky” if it has gone bad. In this case it will need to be disposed of properly.
